Yahoo! Messenger vs Google Talk
Wednesday, September 9, 2009
Hey buddies, you all must have already know about this two chatting or instant messaging application. But let us compare about the two things. Before comparing them, let's take a look one by one.
Yahoo! Messenger.
Yahoo! Messenger is free, easy to download and install, and you can use it with your Yahoo! Id and contacts. It can be used with a Yahoo! Messenger client installed on PC, live and integrated in Yahoo! Webmail, or through the web version webmessenger.yahoo.com. Emoticons are fun and easy, with a lot of custom and optional IMvironments and themes. But I hate it for its annoying advertisement. Chat archiving is available as an option, all chats are stored on local desktop.
Gtalk - Google Talk.
Just like Yahoo! Messenger, Gtalk offers free Instant messaging service for Google User (with google ID). It is also available with either a client version or web version (integrated in gmail page). There is no advertisement on gtalk, but the emoticons is not as good as on Yahoo! Messenger. Archiving is default and stored on google server. You can find your gtalk chat archives under inbox folder in your gmail account.
I use them both, with different ID of course. What about you?
